FOCUSED police enforcement across Metro Manila led to a 39 percent drop in focus crimes and the arrest of hundreds of suspects during a weeklong series of coordinated operations, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported.
Data from the Crime Information Reporting and Analysis System (CIRAS) showed that incidents involving eight focus crimes in the capital region fell from 135 recorded during the period of September 13–19, 2025, to 82 during the same period in 2026.
Significant declines were recorded in murder, physical injury, rape, theft, and motor vehicle theft. During this timeframe, the NCRPO registered an 87.80 percent crime clearance efficiency (CCE) and an 82.93 percent Crime Solution Efficiency (CSE).
The operations, conducted under the leadership of NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano and aligned with Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.’s Enhanced Management of Police Operations (EMPO), targeted multiple criminal fronts across Metro Manila.
Anti-illegal drug operations yielded 182 separate actions, resulting in 226 arrests and the seizure of nearly one kilogram of suspected shabu valued at ₱6.77 million.
The total estimated value of all confiscated illicit substances reached ₱7.51 million.
Sustained tracking of fugitives led to the apprehension of 123 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) and 214 Other Wanted Persons (OWPs).
On public order enforcement, police conducted 204 anti-illegal gambling operations, arresting 445 individuals and confiscating ₱102,403 in bet money.
Meanwhile, 62 separate operations against loose firearms resulted in 62 arrests and the recovery of 62 unlicensed firearms.
Abrahano emphasized that the primary metric of police performance remains public safety and threat prevention rather than raw statistics alone.
“Our personnel must understand that every operational decision carries an obligation to deliver results that matter to the public,” Abrahano said.
“We will measure [our performance] through our ability to anticipate threats, disrupt criminal activities, and maintain an environment where law-abiding citizens can go about their daily lives with greater confidence and security,” added Abrahano.
