JOINT anti-narcotics forces arrested a live-in couple after seizing one kilogram of suspected shabu valued at ₱6.8 million during an entrapment operation in Barangay Bilibiran, Binangonan on Saturday evening, September 12.
Operatives from the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) Special Operation Unit 4A, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 4A, Binangonan Municipal Police Station, and PDEA Rizal conducted the buy-bust around 6:30 p.m.
Authorities identified the suspects as alias “Canapia,” 23, a construction worker, and alias “Junainah,” 22, both local residents.
During the arrest, law enforcement officers recovered a transparent ziplock plastic pack containing approximately 1,000 grams of suspected shabu.
Anti-narcotics agents also confiscated non-drug evidence, including a cellular phone, personal identification documents, and a white Mitsubishi Xpander believed to have been used in drug distribution activities.
Police Regional Office 4A Director PBGen. Dominic L. Baccay commended the inter-agency coordination, reiterating the regional police force’s commitment to eradicating illegal drug networks.
“We will continue to intensify our campaign against illegal drugs. We will find, arrest, and hold accountable those involved in illegal drug activities. There will be no safe haven for drug personalities in CALABARZON,” Baccay said.
The suspects are currently in the custody of PDEG SOU 4A pending inquest proceedings.
They face formal charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
