POLICE arrested a man and seized two unlicensed firearms during the implementation of a judicial search warrant in Barangay Pulanglupa Uno on Friday night, September 11, 2026.
The Las Piñas City Police Station Intelligence Section identified the suspect as alias “Jhon,” of legal age and a resident of the barangay.
At around 11:30 p.m., police served search warrant No. SW-26-044, issued by Hon. Mildred Jacinto Marquez, 1st Vice Executive Judge, at the suspect’s residence along Sitaw Street in Evergreen Subdivision.
During the search, authorities recovered two .38-caliber revolvers, each loaded with four live rounds, along with a sling bag.
Police conducted an inventory and documented the seized items at the scene in the presence of the suspect, an elected barangay official, and a media representative.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights in Tagalog and brought to the Las Piñas District Hospital for a mandatory medical examination before being turned over to the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section for proper processing.
Authorities are preparing charges for alleged violations of Section 28(a) in relation to Section 28(e)(1) of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. The confiscated firearms were submitted to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
Southern Police District Director PBGen. Rodel A. Pastor commended the operating personnel for properly implementing the court-issued warrant.
Pastor stressed that removing loose and unlicensed firearms from communities remains a priority of the police district to help maintain peace and protect public safety.
