A pre-dawn anti-illegal drug operation by the Southern Police District (SPD) resulted in the arrest of four suspects—including a high-value local drug personality—and the confiscation of over ₱107,000 worth of suspected shabu on Saturday morning in Barangay Olympia.
Operatives from the Makati City Police Station’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) launched the buy-bust operation at around 3:40 AM in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
Police identified the primary target as 37-year-old alias “Tups,” an unemployed resident listed on the police Station Level Target/SLI database.
Also arrested were his alleged cohorts: Rico, 38, a seafarer; Aldrin, 31, a tricycle driver; and Jeffrey, 46, unemployed, all residing in Makati City.
According to police reports, an undercover officer acting as a poseur-buyer successfully purchased a sachet of suspected shabu from Tups and Rico using ₱500 in pre-marked money.
During the transaction, Aldrin and Jeffrey reportedly approached Tups to purchase illegal drugs as well.
Once the trade was completed, the undercover officer revealed his identity to execute the arrest.
Tups and Rico attempted to flee the scene on a motorcycle at high speed, but crashed shortly after.
The duo actively resisted and scuffled with law enforcement officers before being subdued.
Officers recovered six heat-sealed plastic sachets containing a total of 15.84 grams of suspected shabu—with an estimated street value of ₱107,712.00—alongside the mark money, a coin purse, and the getaway motorcycle.
The four suspects remain in police custody while investigators finalize the necessary documents for filing formal charges with the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
