AUTHORITIES seized over ₱2.3 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested six suspects during a weeklong series of anti-illegal drug operations across the region from August 31 to September 6, 2026.
Data from the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) showed that operatives conducted 10 distinct anti-drug operations.
These included four marijuana eradication drives, two buy-bust operations, a search warrant execution, an arrest warrant service, a police response call, and a checkpoint operation.
In total, law enforcement confiscated 11,350 fully grown marijuana plants, 280 marijuana seedlings, and 13.17 grams of suspected shabu, carrying an aggregate Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱2,370,756.
Six drug personalities were taken into custody and face charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police classified two of the suspects as High-Value Individuals (HVIs) and four as Street-Level Individuals (SLIs).
The Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) logged the largest single accomplishment, eradicating ₱2,000,000 worth of marijuana plants. The Benguet PPO followed, uprooting marijuana valued at ₱281,200.
In urban operations, the Baguio City Police Office (CPO) seized ₱81,532 worth of suspected shabu and arrested two HVIs alongside two SLIs.
Meanwhile, the Abra PPO confiscated ₱8,024 worth of suspected shabu and apprehended two SLIs.
PRO CAR officials stated that police units will continue to intensify anti-illegal drug operations through sustained law enforcement, inter-agency coordination, and community engagement to maintain peace and order across the Cordillera region.
