JOINT law enforcement officers apprehended an alleged female drug pusher and recovered over ₱170,000 worth of suspected shabu during a late-night sting operation in Barangay Poblacion Norte on September 7.
Police identified the suspect by her alias, “May,” 43. She was taken into custody at around 11:10 PM following a controlled purchase operation led by the Paracale Municipal Police Station.
The operation was conducted alongside the Provincial Intelligence Unit, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company of the Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office, in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office V.
During the buy-bust, an undercover police poseur-buyer successfully purchased suspected shabu from the suspect, prompting her immediate arrest.
Authorities seized a total of 25.46 grams of suspected shabu, carrying an estimated standard drug price of ₱173,128.
Members of the operating team conducted the inventory and marking of the confiscated evidence directly at the scene in the presence of the suspect and required insulating witnesses to maintain the chain of custody and ensure proper legal documentation.
The suspect and the seized contraband were brought to the Paracale Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
Law enforcement officials are preparing formal charges against her for violating Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Regional Office 5 (PRO 5) Regional Director PBGen. Randy Glenn G. Silvio reaffirmed the Bicol police force’s dedication to curbing illegal drugs across the region, emphasizing a dual approach of strict enforcement and public education.
“Our operations against illegal drugs remain continuous and relentless. The Bicol police force will not waver in its efforts to suppress and completely remove illicit drugs from our communities,” PBGen. Silvio said.
Silvio added that the region will simultaneously launch extensive public information campaigns regarding the dangers of narcotics, focusing heavily on youth education and community awareness.
