LOCAL police seized approximately ₱204,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested an unemployed man during an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Canumay West late Thursday night, September 3, 2026.
Operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Valenzuela City Police Station carried out the buy-bust operation at around 10:40 PM in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The 45-year-old suspect, a resident of the same barangay, was taken into custody after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu to a police officer acting as a poseur-buyer in exchange for marked money.
Upon arrest, officers recovered an additional sachet of suspected shabu from the suspect, along with the buy-bust money, personal cash, and belongings. Authorities also impounded a motorcycle allegedly used in the illegal drug activity.
In total, police recovered around 30 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price of ₱204,000. Operating personnel wore Body-Worn Cameras (BWC) throughout the sting to document the procedure.
The suspect is currently held under police custody and faces charges for violations of Sections 5 (Sale) and 11 (Possession), Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Case filings will proceed via inquest.
The Northern Police District stated that the operation aligns with its ongoing efforts to intensify police visibility and sustain anti-criminality campaigns across the region.
