POLICE Colonel Romeo A. Villalobos Jr. officially assumed command as the new Provincial Director of the Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) during a turnover of command ceremony held at the ADSPPO “Kabalikat Hall” on Monday, September 7.
The change of command ceremony was presided over by Police Brigadier General Rolindo M. Suguilon, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 13 (PRO13), who formally led the transition between PCol Villalobos Jr. and outgoing Provincial Director Police Colonel Yahya B. Yusup.
PCol Yusup had helmed the provincial police force since March 2024.
The event was attended by key provincial and local government officials, including Agusan del Sur Governor Santiago B. Cane Jr., Vice-Governor Patricia Anne B. Plaza, Bayugan City Mayor Kirk A. Asis, and Esperanza Mayor Deo P. Manpatilan Jr.
Representatives from the judiciary, military, and private sector were also present, including Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) Presiding Judge Jarly D. Sulay, 401st Infantry Brigade Commander BGen Benjamin L. Leander, and Philsaga Mining Foundation Executive Director Reygela M. Decalit.
Members of the ADSPPO Provincial Command Group, provincial staff, chiefs of police, mobile force commanders, and non-uniformed personnel gathered to witness the transition.
During the program, PBGen Suguilon commended PCol Yusup for his dedicated service and effective stewardship of the province over the past six months.
He welcomed PCol Villalobos Jr., expressing confidence in his leadership experience and urging him to sustain the province’s security gains while guiding the force with discipline and integrity.
PBGen Suguilon also praised the officers and personnel of the ADSPPO for their continued commitment to public safety, encouraging them to maintain their high standards of service under the new leadership.
