OPERATIVES from the Eastern Police District (EPD) apprehended one of the region’s top most-wanted fugitives during a targeted warrant operation on Friday afternoon, September 25.
Members of the Mandaluyong City Police Station’s Warrant and Subpoena Section arrested the suspect, identified by the alias “James,” 29, at approximately 2:25 PM along Star Street in Barangay Poblacion.
The arrest was carried out under a warrant issued by Branch 281 of the Mandaluyong City Regional Trial Court. James faces charges for violating Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
At the time of his arrest, he was listed as the Rank 7 Most Wanted Person at the district level and Rank 9 at the station level.
Following standard procedure, the suspect was brought to the Mandaluyong City Medical Center for a routine medical evaluation.
He was subsequently remanded to the Custodial Facility Unit of the Mandaluyong City Police Station, where he remains in custody pending further court proceedings.
Police Brigadier General Roman C. Arugay, EPD District Director, commended the team for the arrest, reiterating the district’s commitment to tracking down fugitives.
“The arrest of one of our district’s most wanted persons demonstrates the unwavering dedication of our police personnel in enforcing the law and pursuing those who seek to evade justice,” PBGEN Arugay said.
“We will continue to intensify our operations against wanted persons as part of our commitment to keeping our communities safe and secure,” Arugay added.
The EPD reaffirmed that it will maintain coordinated anti-criminality operations to locate and apprehend remaining fugitives across Metro East.
