LOCAL authorities arrested three men and seized over P100,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs alongside two firearms during an early-morning buy-bust operation in Barangay Pinagbuhatan on Saturday, September 26.
Joint operatives from the Pasig City Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit, Intelligence Section, and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team—in coordination with the Pasig City Anti-Drug Abuse Office—executed the sting along Kenneth Road corner Eusebio Avenue at around 3:30 AM.
Police identified the suspects by their aliases: “Eugene,” 29, a driver from Cavite City; “Owen,” 43, a discharged Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) member residing in Taytay, Rizal; and “Ruel,” 34, a security guard from Taguig City.
Authorities recovered nine heat-sealed plastic sachets containing roughly 15 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P102,000.
Officers also seized marked buy-bust money, three cellphones, and two vehicles: a Yamaha NMAX and a Suzuki Skydrive.
In addition to the illegal drugs, police confiscated a Glock 17 9mm pistol and a Bushmaster 5.56mm rifle, both loaded with live ammunition.
A background check revealed that “Owen” had prior arrests for a drug offense in May 2017 and illegal gambling in January 2024.
The three suspects face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Pasig City Chief of Police PCol. Hendrix B. Mangaldan commended the operatives and local government partners, affirming that the station will continue to step up intelligence-led operations to curb illegal drugs and maintain public safety across the city.
