LOCAL police dealt a major blow to the local illegal drug trade after seizing one kilogram of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million and arresting a newly identified High-Value Individual (HVI) during a buy-bust operation along C. Raymundo Avenue, Barangay Caniogan, on Saturday evening, September 26.
Joint operatives from the Pasig City Police Station—including its Drug Enforcement Unit, Intelligence Section, Investigation and Detective Management Section, Follow-Up Section, and SWAT team, in coordination with the Pasig City Anti-Drug Abuse Office—executed the sting at around 5:20 PM.
Police arrested 22-year-old alias “Amo,” an unemployed resident of Barangay San Joaquin.
Authorities recovered six medium zip-lock sachets of suspected shabu weighing roughly one kilogram, marked buy-bust money, a digital weighing scale, a sling bag, and a red Honda Click motorcycle used by the suspect.
“Amo” faces charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Pasig City Police Chief PCol. Hendrix B. Mangaldan praised the operating units for their coordination and efficiency, noting that the seizure highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing in disrupting illegal drug networks in the city.
