A 29-year-old man listed among the region’s most wanted persons was arrested by police on September 1 after allegedly evading authorities for nine months.
Operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested the suspect at around 8:30 a.m. inside a subdivision in Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches.
The suspect, a call center agent, was ranked Top 6 Most Wanted Person at the regional level and Top 3 at the district level, according to police.
Authorities said the arrest was carried out by the QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, in coordination with the QCPD District Intelligence Unit and Regional Intelligence Unit-NCR.
Police served a warrant dated August 12, 2026, issued by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 99 in connection with a rape case under Article 266-A(1)(a) of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Acts 8353 and 11648. The offense carries no recommended bail, according to authorities.
The warrant will be returned to the issuing court along with a report on its implementation.
NCR Police Office officer-in-charge PBGen. Christopher N. Abrahano said the arrest demonstrates the police force’s commitment to tracking down wanted individuals and pursuing justice for victims of crime.
“No wanted person remains beyond reach,” Abrahano said, adding that the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) remains committed to locating fugitives and bringing them to justice.
