ABOUT 250 personnel from the Eastern Police District (EPD) received free healthcare services on Friday, September 25, during a joint medical mission with Unilab, Inc. held at the EPD Multi-Purpose Hall in Barangay Malinao.
The initiative, dubbed the “Unilab Corporate Bayanihan sa Kalusugan Program,” offered police officers and staff free Annual Physical Examinations (APE), including blood pressure checks, complete blood count (CBC), random blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, and bone density screenings.
Beneficiaries also received starter doses of essential medicines and vitamins, as well as access to discounted pharmaceutical purchases and digital compliance programs through partner drugstores.
The medical mission forms part of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Morale and Welfare Program and coincides with Unilab’s 80th anniversary celebration.
It served personnel across the District Headquarters, District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB), and the Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan (PaMaMariSan) city police stations.
EPD District Director PBGen Roman C. Arugay led the event alongside members of the EPD Command Group and District Staff. Unilab was represented by Patients Activation and Compliance Specialist Gilbert T. Robiso and a team of medical professionals.
“The health and well-being of our personnel remain among our priorities,” PBGen Arugay said.
“This initiative is a meaningful part of the PNP Morale and Welfare Program, as it provides our police officers with accessible healthcare services and encourages them to prioritize their health while continuing to serve and protect our communities,” addede Arugay.
The joint activity highlights the role of public-private partnerships in supporting police readiness and overall officer welfare.
