POLICE captured a 53-year-old man listed as a regional-level most wanted person during a targeted manhunt operation in Barangay Ilog, Taal, Batangas, on Monday, September 14.
The suspect, identified by the alias “Humprey,” was arrested by intelligence operatives from the Ibaan Municipal Police Station.
The operation was conducted in coordination with warrant personnel from the Lipa Component City Police Station, the Provincial Intelligence Team-Batangas, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 4A.
Officers apprehended the Lipa City resident by virtue of arrest warrants issued on February 14, 2022, by the Presiding Judge of the Family Court, Branch 2, Lipa City.
The warrants stem from convictions for Rape under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code (Criminal Case No. 05-0456-2018) and Acts of Lasciviousness (Criminal Case No. 05-0459-2018), both intended for the service of his sentence.
Law enforcement officers documented the arrest using two body-worn cameras and advised the suspect of his constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine and the Anti-Torture Law during the apprehension.
The suspect remains in the custody of the arresting unit while authorities prepare the return of the warrants to the issuing court.
“This successful arrest demonstrates our continued commitment to locating wanted persons and ensuring that those facing serious charges are brought before the proper court,” said Police Colonel Oliver B. Ebora, Provincial Director of the Batangas Police Provincial Office.
He added that local police will continue enhancing intelligence efforts to execute outstanding warrants and uphold the rule of law.
