THE Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) arrested 320 individuals across Central Visayas during a series of intensified field operations conducted from September 6 to 12, 2026.
The weeklong campaign focused on curbing illegal drugs, apprehending wanted fugitives, and confiscating loose firearms, following directives from PRO7 Regional Director PBGen. Arnold E. Abad for unit commanders to step up law enforcement and local ordinance implementation.
Anti-illegal drug operations accounted for the largest share of arrests, with police apprehending 198 suspects.
The operations yielded 369.73 grams of suspected illegal drugs, valued at an estimated standard price of ₱2,514,164.
Police units also tracked down and apprehended 99 wanted individuals. The arrests included 24 high-value/most wanted persons and 75 other wanted suspects categorized under existing police priority targets.
In efforts to suppress illegal weaponry, PRO7 officers arrested 23 individuals in direct operations against loose firearms, seizing 65 firearms, one explosive device, and 77 rounds of live ammunition.
An additional 16 firearms were recovered through “OPLAN Katok,” a community-based initiative where officers conduct house visits to encourage firearm owners to surrender or deposit unlicensed and loose weapons.
PBGen. Abad emphasized the need for continuous vigilance and community engagement to keep regional crime rates down.
“We must sustain our intensified police operations and strictly enforce existing laws and local ordinances. Our police units must remain visible and responsive, while working closely with our local government units and communities to address public safety concerns,” Abad said.
