POLICE officers from the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) arrested two male suspects in Barangay Pahina Central on September 8, 2026, resolving a street robbery within hours of the incident.
The robbery occurred at approximately 2:30 AM in Barangay Sambag 2, targeting a 21-year-old victim.
Following a prompt report lodged at 2:35 AM, personnel from CCPO Police Station 2 (Abellana) launched an immediate investigation and hot-pursuit operation.
The targeted efforts culminated in the apprehension of both suspects later that evening at around 9:20 PM.
During the operation, officers recovered the victim’s stolen cellular phone and the white motorcycle allegedly used as the getaway vehicle.
Police also confiscated key physical evidence—including a red jacket, a long-sleeved jersey, and a helmet—which were logged and turned over to the evidence custodian.
The suspects remain in custody at the PS2 Abellana Detention Facility while investigators prepare the appropriate criminal charges for court filing.
PRO7 Regional Director PBGen. Arnold E. Abad commended the responding officers for their swift coordination and successful recovery of the stolen items.
