ROUTINE law enforcement activities resulted in the arrest of two drug suspects—including a High-Value Individual (HVI)—and the seizure of ₱78,132 worth of suspected shabu during separate incidents in Baguio City on September 3, 2026.
In Barangay Irisan, officers from Baguio City Police Office (CPO) Police Station 9 were conducting a mobile patrol along Quirino Highway when they spotted a parked vehicle obstructing traffic.
Upon asking the male driver for his driver’s license, the suspect failed to present valid documentation.
During the interaction, officers observed a transparent item believed to be drug paraphernalia inside a door pocket pouch.
After the driver allegedly admitted the item’s illicit nature, police conducted a lawful search of the vehicle.
Operatives recovered four plastic sachets containing approximately 10.77 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱73,236, along with various drug paraphernalia.
The driver, a 29-year-old male, was subsequently identified and logged as an HVI.
In a separate enforcement operation in Barangay Dontogan, Police Station 10 officers flagged down a 33-year-old motorcycle rider at a routine checkpoint for driving while wearing slippers, a traffic violation.
During the inspection, officers spotted two plastic sachets of suspected shabu in the rider’s possession.
The seized contraband weighed 0.72 grams, valued at an SDP of ₱4,896. The suspect was categorized as a Street-Level Individual (SLI).
Both suspects were taken into police custody alongside the confiscated evidence. They face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
