THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) lauded both police officers and progressive groups for the peaceful and orderly conduct of protest actions held across Metro Manila today, September 21, 2026.
Security forces were deployed in strategic locations throughout the capital region to maintain public safety, manage traffic, and protect the constitutional right to peaceful assembly during demonstrations marking the anniversary of Martial Law.
The deployment included security augmentation from the Central Luzon (Region 3) and Calabarzon (Region 4A) Police Regional Offices.
NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano praised deployed police personnel for demonstrating maximum tolerance, professionalism, and strict adherence to human rights standards.
“We are pleased that these preparations, together with the cooperation of protest organizers and participants, contributed to the peaceful conduct of the demonstrations,” Abrahano said.
“The NCRPO’s objective was never to prevent the exercise of the people’s rights, but to provide a secure environment where those rights could be exercised responsibly and peacefully,” the NCRPO chief added.
Abrahano also expressed appreciation to rally organizers and participants for maintaining discipline and coordinating with law enforcement ground commanders throughout the day.
“Your cooperation demonstrates that the right to peaceful assembly and the responsibility to preserve public safety can go hand in hand,” Abrahano added, reiterating the NCRPO’s commitment to safeguarding both public safety and civil liberties in future public gatherings.
