OPERATIONS across Region 12 yielded over ₱674,000 worth of illegal drugs, an unlicensed firearm, and the arrest of two drug suspects in Sultan Kudarat and General Santos City over the weekend.
At around 10:10 PM on September 18, 2026, joint elements of the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU), City Intelligence Unit, and Police Station 2 of the General Santos City Police Office conducted a buy-bust operation along Diversion Road in Barangay Sinawal, General Santos City.
Authorities arrested 52-year-old alias “Paloma,” a resident of Barangay Apopong categorized as a high-value individual (HVI).
A poseur-buyer initially purchased a sachet containing 4.43 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect.
A subsequent body search yielded six additional sachets weighing 72.22 grams. In total, officers seized 76.65 grams of suspected shabu valued at an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱521,220.
Police also recovered marked money, cash, identification cards, LTO documents, and a smartphone.
Hours later, at approximately 2:15 AM on September 19, 2026, personnel from the Esperanza Municipal Police Station, the 2nd Sultan Kudarat Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Provincial Police Drug Enforcement/Intelligence Unit served search warrants in Barangay Villamor, Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat.
The raid resulted in the arrest of alias “Tomi,” a resident of the area identified as a Street-Level Individual (SLI).
Confiscated during the search were 12 sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 22.6 grams with an SDP of ₱153,680, an unnumbered .38-caliber revolver loaded with three live rounds, drug paraphernalia, and personal items.
Both suspects remain in police custody while the seized drugs were submitted to forensic units in Isulan and General Santos City for quantitative and qualitative laboratory examination.
Criminal complaints for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) are being prepared for inquest proceedings.
Police Regional Office 12 Regional Director PBGEN Alan B. Manibog commended the operating units, stating, “We will continuously intensify our campaign against illegal drugs and firearms. Every operation is conducted in accordance with the law, with proper process and accountability, to maintain the safety of our communities.”
