TWO Japanese nationals were arrested by Bureau of Immigration (BI) agents on Sept. 10 after being caught working without valid immigration documents at a business park in Barangay Maduya, Carmona, Cavite.
The suspects, identified as Kaoru Goto, 33, and Tsutsumi Kazumasa, 32, were apprehended at the Golden Mile Business Park during an operation conducted under Mission Order No. 2026-329.
The directive aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s order to enforce national immigration laws strictly.
Intelligence Division operatives executed the bust by posing as potential clients interested in purchasing an electric vehicle (EV).
Upon entering the facility, undercover officers observed the two men performing work activities despite lacking the requisite employment permits and working visas.
Following inquest proceedings conducted by BI legal counsel, Goto and Tsutsumi were transferred to the BI Warden’s Facility in Bicutan, Taguig City, where they will remain detained while awaiting formal deportation proceedings.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado reiterated that all foreign nationals intending to work in the country must secure the appropriate permits and visas prior to beginning employment.
He also warned local business establishments against hiring undocumented foreign workers, emphasizing that non-compliant employers will face legal accountability.
