MEMBERS of the Corrections Officers Class 01-2023 “PAYONIRUS” commemorated their third anniversary on Sept. 14, 2026, by launching a series of community service and outreach programs across two regional facilities.
At the Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) in Abuyog, Leyte, class members distributed essential hygiene kits to elderly persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) stationed at the facility’s minimum security camp.
Conducted under the supervision of C/SINSP Regino A. Devaras, LRP Officer-in-Charge, the distribution was organized alongside the senior citizen and person with disability committee to verify and direct aid to target beneficiaries.
Following the prison activity, the Leyte unit visited the San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila Parish in Barangay Hampipila for a thanksgiving service.
Concurrently, the Officers Custodial Basic Course (COCBC) unit at the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) marked the anniversary with environmental and educational outreach initiatives.
Members planted 200 coconut trees around the Super Maximum Prison Facility to support local greening efforts.
The SPPF unit also visited Paradise Adventist Elementary School, where officers distributed school supplies and provided meals to students.
Class representatives stated that the coordinated activities reflect the group’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, environmental stewardship, and public service as they enter their fourth year as corrections officers.
