THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has finalized security and assistance measures ahead of the two-day nationwide transport strike organized by transport group MANIBELA on September 14 and 15.
QCPD Acting District Director PBGen. Christopher Olazo assured the public that police forces are fully prepared to maintain peace and order, facilitate traffic flow, and ensure public safety along key assembly areas and transit corridors.
The planned protest action is expected to begin at Welcome Rotonda in Quezon City before marching toward the Mendiola Bridge in the City of Manila.
Police personnel will be deployed at strategic convergence points across Quezon City to maintain high-visibility patrols, assist stranded commuters, support traffic management, and respond to potential disruptions.
Olazo emphasized that while the QCPD respects the constitutional right to peaceful assembly, participants are expected to conduct their protests lawfully and without infringing on the rights of non-participating commuters and motorists.
“We are prepared to maintain peace and order while respecting the constitutional right to peaceful assembly. We call on all participants to exercise their rights peacefully and cooperate with authorities to ensure public safety,” Olazo said.
The QCPD advised commuters and residents to monitor official traffic advisories and stay vigilant throughout the two-day mobilization.
