THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported a sharp 57.32% reduction in focus crimes across Metro Manila following a series of coordinated, high-impact police operations conducted from September 6 to 12.
According to regional data, the tally for the eight focus crimes—including theft, robbery, rape, physical injuries, and motor vehicle theft—dropped from 157 cases recorded during the same period last year to 67.
Notably, motor vehicle carnapping cases were completely eliminated during the weeklong comparative period. Concurrently, the regional crime solution efficiency climbed from 70.70% to 86.57%.
The enforcement push led to the arrest of 294 fugitives, comprising 100 most wanted persons (MWPs) and 194 other wanted persons (OWPs) across Metro Manila’s five police districts.
Anti-narcotics units conducted 230 targeted operations, resulting in the arrest of 295 suspects and the confiscation of over 1.2 kilograms of suspected shabu and other illicit drugs valued at ₱8.88 million.
A parallel crackdown on illegal firearms led to 72 operations, 74 arrests, and the recovery of 77 unregistered weapons.
Meanwhile, 235 anti-illegal gambling raids resulted in the arrest of 492 bettors and financiers, along with the seizure of gambling paraphernalia and ₱112,222 in cash bets.

“These figures tell us our roadmap of lesser crime, faster response, and better-behaved police is not just a slogan—it is being felt on the ground,” Abrahano said. “What will protect our communities is our commitment to sustain this momentum every single week, with every unit expected to keep this pace up.”
The regional command reiterated its directive for all personnel to maintain professionalism, discipline, and operational integrity during every public interaction across the metropolis.
