POLICE operatives in CALABARZON arrested two high-profile fugitives—ranked fifth and seventh among the region’s most wanted persons—during separate manhunt operations in Cavite and Laguna over the weekend.
In General Trias City, Cavite, law enforcement officers nabbed 21-year-old alias “John,” the Region 4A Rank No. 5 most wanted person and a identified high-value individual, on the evening of September 13 in Barangay San Francisco.
Joint units from the General Trias Component City Police Station served arrest warrants for murder and violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
During the arrest, police confiscated 6.26 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱42,568, an unmarked .45-caliber pistol loaded with six live rounds, and a sling bag.
In a subsequent operation on the morning of September 14, authorities captured alias “Mariano,” the region’s Rank No. 7 most wanted person, in Barangay San Antonio 2, San Pablo City, Laguna.
Mariano was arrested by elements of the San Pablo City Police Station, alongside the 59th Infantry Battalion, Laguna Provincial Mobile Force Company, and regional intelligence units.
He faced non-bailable arrest warrants for murder and violations of Republic Act 11479, or the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.
Police Regional Office 4A Director PBGen. Dominic L. Baccay emphasized that the captures highlight the region’s intensified campaign against wanted criminals under the PNP’s focused agenda and B.E.S.T. Policing Framework.
“Different locations, different operations, but one message: no one is above the law, and no one escapes in CALABARZON. If you are hiding, we will find you; if you run, we will arrest you,” Baccay stated.
Both accused are currently in the custody of their respective arresting police units for proper legal disposition and documentation.
