A joint response by private security guards and the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) successfully foiled a delivery theft on Friday afternoon, leading to the arrest of two suspects and the full recovery of stolen merchandise.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:10 PM on September 11, 2026, at a commercial establishment along Aurora Boulevard in the Sta. Mesa area of Quezon City.
Authorized delivery personnel were in the process of unloading a scheduled shipment containing 110 boxes of assorted goods at the mall’s receiving and dispatching unit.
During a mandatory final check of the delivery truck, an alert security guard discovered five unmanifested boxes hidden inside the vehicle.
When questioned about the extra cargo, one of the three delivery workers abruptly fled the scene on foot.
A subsequent manual audit confirmed that five boxes, valued at ₱12,570.00, were unaccounted for in the official delivery manifest.
Responding law enforcement officers quickly secured the premises and took two delivery personnel into custody while retrieving all five concealed boxes.
The third worker managed to evade officers, triggering an active police manhunt.
The two detained suspects were taken to Galas Police Station 11 for booking. Formal inquest proceedings are underway to file charges of Attempted Theft under the Revised Penal Code.
Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano, Officer-in-Charge of the NCRPO, commended the tight collaboration between private security personnel and police units, emphasizing the importance of strict operational protocols for commercial centers.
“This case shows how vigilance and immediate coordination can stop a crime before it progresses further,” PBGEN Abrahano said.
“We will continue working with security personnel, businesses, and communities to detect suspicious activities early, act within the law, and hold offenders accountable,” Abrahano added.
Law enforcement agencies urge members of the public who possess details regarding the missing suspect’s identity or current location to contact 911 or report directly to the nearest police station.
