POLICE arrested a 34-year-old female tenant in South Triangle, Quezon City, on August 27, 2026, over an alleged “salisi” theft of jewelry valued at more than ₱1 million.
Operatives from the Kamuning Police Station (PS-10) of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) responded after the victim reported that three pouches containing jewelry valued at approximately ₱1,007,000 were missing from her pink sling bag.
Initial investigations revealed that the victim had earlier found the suspect inside her bedroom applying makeup, despite the suspect’s designated sleeping area being in the unit’s living room. The suspect later left the condominium.
Upon inspecting the suspect’s sleeping area, the victim recovered two bracelet chains inside a small transparent zip-lock bag.
The victim’s bedroom key was also found near the suspect’s bed. A Buddha pendant valued at ₱250,000 was left behind, but its matching necklace was missing.
When the victim noticed the suspect had returned to the condominium lobby, she immediately alerted PS-10 personnel.
Responding officers arrested the suspect at the location and brought both parties to the police station for investigation and proper disposition.
The suspect is set to be referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for the filing of a complaint for Theft (Salisi). The case remains under investigation, and the suspect is entitled to due process under the law.
PNP Chief PGen. Nartatez emphasized the importance of timely and fact-based police response, especially in cases where evidence is crucial.
“We will ensure that every complaint is properly acted upon and that the law is applied fairly,” he said.
He also urged the public to remain vigilant with their belongings and to promptly seek police assistance if anything goes missing or if suspicious activities occur.
