POLICE operatives arrested a 31-year-old man listed as one of the National Capital Region’s most wanted criminals during a targeted operation in Barangay Kamuning, Quezon City, on Tuesday afternoon.
The operation, executed around 2:30 PM on September 1, 2026, was conducted by the Quezon City Police District–Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) alongside the Quezon City District Intelligence and Tactical Unit (QCDIT) and the Regional Intelligence Unit-NCR (RIU-NCR).
Authorities identified the suspect as the region’s top 4 most wanted person and the district’s top 2 most wanted person.
Police located and apprehended him following actionable intelligence gathered by QCDIT and RIU-NCR.
The arrest was carried out via a judicial warrant for sexual assault under Article 266-A (2) of the Revised Penal Code and statutory rape under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1(D), as amended by Republic Act Nos. 8353 and 11648.
Court documents set bail at ₱180,000 for the sexual assault charge, while no bail was recommended for the statutory rape count.
Officers informed the suspect of his constitutional rights upon apprehension before transporting him to the police facility for documentation and processing. The serving unit will return the warrant to the court of origin.
Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano, Officer-in-Charge of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), commended the operating units for their tactical coordination and intelligence work.
“Our responsibility does not end with identifying threats; we must ensure that appropriate action reaches those who evade the law,” Abrahano stated.
“Through reliable information, coordinated efforts, and timely police response, we remain committed to protecting the public and upholding accountability,” added Abrahano.
