REGIONAL law enforcement authorities apprehended nine suspects and seized roughly 124.4 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱845,920 during an overnight blitz across Metro Manila.
The series of four sting operations, executed by units under the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), targeted drug hotspots in Manila, Caloocan, and Las Piñas from late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.
The regional enforcement crackdown began in Manila at approximately 11:10 PM on August 26, when Sta. Ana Police Station personnel targeted two male suspects along J. Posadas Street in Barangay 894, Punta, Sta. Ana.
The buy-bust yielded three sachets containing 12 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱81,600. Less than an hour later, at 11:55 PM, Barbosa Police Station operatives netted three more suspects at the corner of Rawatun and Palanca Streets in Barangay 648, Quiapo, confiscating 30 grams of the illicit substance valued at ₱204,000.
The momentum continued into the early hours of August 27. At 1:57 AM, Northern Police District operatives staged a planned buy-bust along Nadurata Street in Barangay 18, Caloocan City.
The operation led to the arrest of three individuals and the recovery of 11.3 grams of suspected shabu estimated at ₱76,840. The largest haul occurred shortly after at 2:43 AM along Gatchalian Drive in Barangay Manuyo Dos, Las Piñas City. Las Piñas City Police Station operatives arrested a 29-year-old male after recovering four sachets containing 71.10 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of ₱483,480.
All nine suspects are currently in custody and facing formal charges for violating Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Case folders are being prepared for submission to respective city prosecutors’ offices for inquest proceedings.
NCRPO Officer-in-Charge PBGen. Christopher N. Abrahano emphasized that these rapid, sequential stings align with the command’s “Prepare, Prevent, Respond” framework.
The regional leadership reiterated that field operations will maintain aggressive enforcement while strictly adhering to legal standards and institutional guidelines.
