OPERATIVES of the Manila Police District Drug Enforcement Unit (MPD-DEU) confiscated approximately ₱14.28 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested a high-value drug target during an afternoon buy-bust operation in Ermita on Saturday, August 31, 2026.
Joint law enforcement units cornered the 33-year-old male suspect at around 5:10 PM along Maria Orosa Street in Barangay 666, Zone 72.
During the sting, police recovered four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a total of 2,100 grams (2.1 kilograms) of suspected shabu, with a standard drug price value estimated at ₱14,280,000.
Operatives also seized the marked genuine buy-bust bills, boodle money, and personal items from the suspect.
The arrested suspect was taken into custody at the MPD-DEU facility for documentation and booking.
Formal criminal charges for the illegal sale (Section 5) and possession (Section 11) of dangerous drugs under Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being finalized for court filing.
NCRPO Officer-in-Charge PBGEN Christopher N. Abrahano emphasized that the operation targeted a major supply line within the capital.
“We are cutting off the tentacles of syndicates right where they try to take root in our neighborhoods,” PBGEN Abrahano stated.
“Taking millions worth of dangerous drugs off the streets is a hard blow to these networks, but our true measure of success is keeping our streets completely hostile to drug peddlers,” added Abrahano.
