OPERATIVES from the Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) recovered two motor vehicles—including one under a active system hold order and another reported stolen after a rental agreement—during separate operations on September 3, 2026.
In Los Baños, Laguna, personnel from Team 403A of the Provincial Highway Patrol Team (PHPT) Laguna spotted an illegally parked white Toyota Hiace Grandia along Manila South Road in Barangay Batong Malaki.
Upon inspecting the vehicle’s documents and cross-referencing its details through the HPG Vehicle Information Management System (VIMS), officers discovered an active Hold Order.
System records indicated the van had been classified as taken without the owner’s consent under Reference No. H1015-1219-013.
In a separate operation in Mindanao, PHPT Davao de Oro officers recovered a metallic gray 2023 Nissan Navara pickup truck in Barangay Camanlangan, New Bataan.
The recovery followed a complaint filed with the Nabunturan Municipal Police Station by the vehicle’s registered owner, who reported that the truck had been leased on August 1, 2026, but was never returned after the renter defaulted on payment obligations.
Police tracked the pickup to New Bataan following intelligence gathering and confirmed its identity at the scene.
Both vehicles have been taken into police custody for documentation, verification, and legal disposition.
Police Brigadier General Joyce Patrick B. Sangalang, Acting Director of the PNP-HPG, praised the field units for their quick action and vigilance.
“These recoveries highlight the importance of sustained anti-carnapping patrols, timely verification, and close coordination with local police units,” Sangalang said, adding that the agency will maintain its drive against car theft while adhering strictly to lawful enforcement procedures.
