LAW enforcement officers seized over ₱1.7 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested four suspects during a series of intelligence-driven buy-bust operations across Metro Manila, police reported Thursday.
Operatives from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) confiscated approximately 252.77 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱1,718,836 during coordinated strikes conducted between Sept. 23 and Sept. 24, 2026.
The police operations kicked off late Wednesday evening in Muntinlupa City, where Southern Police District personnel arrested a 43-year-old woman and recovered 75 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱510,000.
Law enforcement momentum continued into Thursday morning:
- Las Piñas City: Officers staged the largest single seizure of the operation, arresting a 43-year-old man and confiscating 115.17 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱783,156.
- Pandacan, Manila: District operatives apprehended a 61-year-old woman and seized 30 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱204,000.
- Taguig City: Police intercepted a 38-year-old man at dawn, taking 32.6 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱221,680 into custody.
Police said all four suspects were informed of their constitutional rights upon arrest. The seized drug evidence was marked and forwarded for official laboratory testing.
Formal criminal complaints for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are currently being finalized for inquest and court filing.
NCRPO Officer-in-Charge PBGen. Christopher N. Abrahano commended the police units involved for their coordinated action.
“Every confiscation and arrest disrupts the supply chain of illegal drugs and prevents these substances from reaching more communities,” Abrahano said in a statement.
“The NCRPO will continue to strengthen its operations, maintain strict adherence to lawful procedures, and work with our partners and the public to address the illegal drug problem in Metro Manila,” added Abrahano.
Police authorities urged members of the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity or drug transactions to local law enforcement channels.
