THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) launched a nationwide effort on Monday, September 14, 2026, mobilizing its offices and personnel across the country to bring core frontline services and public assistance directly to local communities as part of the “President’s Handout 2026” initiative.
The initiative aims to streamline public access by bringing key government services straight to citizens, allowing them to easily request assistance, obtain information, and seek guidance on matters falling under the bureau’s mandate.
NBI Director Atty. Melvin A. Matibag highlighted that the bureau’s extensive involvement reflects the President’s vision of honoring public service by prioritizing the immediate needs of the Filipino people.
“The true spirit of the President’s Handout is to bring the government closer to the people,” Matibag said.
“That’s why the NBI is here not only to investigate and enforce the law, but to directly serve our fellow Filipinos. We bring together our services to make it easier for them to approach, ask questions, and seek assistance. This is the NBI, ready to listen, act, and serve wherever the country needs us,” added Matibag.
Through this unified effort, the NBI reaffirmed its commitment to delivering accessible, efficient, and humane public service while upholding individual rights, privacy, and dignity.
The bureau encouraged citizens to maximize the available community-based services as partner government agencies join forces to create a more responsive, accessible public administration nationwide.
