OFFICERS from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) intercepted a drug suspect and seized ₱68,000 worth of suspected shabu during an early-morning checkpoint along Luzon Avenue on Sunday.
The operation was conducted at around 1:30 AM at the intersection of Samat Road and Luzon Avenue in Barangay Old Balara by personnel from the Batasan Police Station (PS 6), led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Gemmer Tubiera.
Police identified the arrested suspect as 29-year-old alias “Ampas,” a resident of Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.
According to police reports, officers flagged down the suspect during an intensified checkpoint operation.
A search yielded 10 grams of suspected shabu packed inside a black coin purse. Authorities also impounded the suspect’s white Yamaha Aerox motorcycle.
The suspect faces formal charges for violating Section 11 of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, with the case set for submission to the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
