THE Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS), under the leadership of Chief of Police PCOL Joseph G. Talento, intensified its public safety efforts on September 10, 2026, through a series of community-focused training programs targeting neighborhood security and active school response preparedness.
In Barangay Canumay East, the VCPS Station Community Affairs Section, led by PMAJ Joan H. De Leon alongside Women and Children Protection Desk OIC PLT Ma. Teresa C. Cruz, conducted a Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) Refresher Training and Seminar at the local Multipurpose Hall.
Attended by roughly 50 participants—including BPAT members, the Lupong Tagapamayapa, local officials, and barangay tanods—the session aimed to upgrade foundational skills in emergency response and crime prevention.
PMSg Ramon E. Barcelino outlined the duties of primary responders during preventive patrols, while PSSg Jo Erick Dazo detailed municipal ordinances.
Additionally, PLT Cruz educated attendees on Republic Act 11313 (Safe Spaces Act), highlighting response protocols for gender-based sexual harassment to reinforce local police-community relations.
Simultaneously, VCPS personnel reinforced campus security through an In-Service Training (INSET) lecture and Safe School Drill at Parada Elementary School.
Coordinated with Principal IV Dr. Rizza D. Escobido, the activity was spearheaded by Station Investigation Section (SIS) OIC PCPT Jhonnie E. Beltran, PSSg Wilfred B. Ching, PSSg Rachelle H. Jimenez, and four additional SIS personnel.
Designed to equip educators and young learners against potential threats, the active shooter preparedness exercise focused on replacing panic with structured action.
Speakers trained participants to spot early warning signs, such as concerning behavior in person or online, emphasizing the rule: “If you see something, say something.”
By encouraging immediate reporting to authorities and reiterating the core message that “Awareness + Practice = Safety,” the simulation underscored the value of routine emergency drills.
Together, these dual operations reflect the Valenzuela City Police Station’s ongoing commitment to building resilient neighborhood networks and maintaining secure learning environments across the city.
