THE Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) recovered and impounded five motor vehicles across Laguna, Iloilo, Butuan City, Nueva Ecija, and Pampanga on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, targeting carnapping, failed returns, and vehicle financing schemes.
In Biñan City, Laguna, HPG personnel located a green Yamaha NMAX (Plate No. 474DPU) that was listed under an active stolen-vehicle alarm after being taken from outside its owner’s residence in Barangay Timbao on August 28.
In Santa Barbara, Iloilo, officers impounded a black 2020 Nissan Terra (Plate No. NGG 2026) suspected of involvement in a Talon-Casa resale scheme.
The driver was flagged down for delinquent registration and using an unauthorized improvised plate, presenting only photocopies of registration documents.
A similar Talon-Casa incident was flagged in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, where officers stopped a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 (Plate No. NBY 6778) over a seatbelt violation.
Verification revealed expired registration documents and an unpaid financing loan tied to the registered owner.
In Butuan City, investigators recovered a white 2023 Toyota Fortuner (Plate No. GAK 9024) in Barangay Kinamlutan.
The vehicle had been reported as “failed to return” after being entrusted to an individual for repairs.
Meanwhile, in Pampanga, a blue-and-black 2025 Yamaha Mio Aerox (Plate No. 823XLY) was surrendered after HPG personnel discovered a falsified Certificate of Registration during a routine clearance check for a ownership transfer, a finding confirmed by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Angeles City.
All five vehicles remain under HPG custody for verification and legal proceedings.
HPG Acting Director PBGen Joyce Patrick B. Sangalang commended the operating units, emphasizing that sustained intelligence gathering and strict document verification remain critical to curbing fraudulent vehicle sales and protecting legitimate vehicle owners.
