A 41-year-old female Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) returning from Dubai was arrested at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on September 1, 2026, following a 12-year-old warrant for qualified theft.
The apprehension was executed through a joint operation by the PNP Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP), the Bureau of Immigration (BI), and the San Fernando City Police Station (SFC PS), La Union Police Provincial Office.
BI personnel intercepted the passenger at the international arrival area after database verification revealed an active arrest warrant issued on November 20, 2014, by the Regional Trial Court of San Fernando City, La Union.
The accused faces two counts of Qualified Theft, with total bail set at ₱98,000.
During the arrest, officers informed the suspect of her constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine in a language she understood.
Law enforcement officers also activated an alternative recording device (ARD) during the operation to maintain transparency and protocol compliance.
The accused has been transferred to the custody of the San Fernando City Police Station for documentation and proper legal disposition.
