THE Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) conducted a simulated riot drill on August 31 at its Annex Security Camp to evaluate and strengthen its emergency preparedness and emergency response capabilities.
Participating officers from various offices, operational sections, and the Annex Security Camp executed the facility’s contingency plan during a simulated sudden disturbance involving Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).
The exercise tested critical incident management protocols, including rapid communication, troop deployment, inter-unit coordination, containment of conflicting groups, casualty evacuation, and post-incident headcounts.
Security personnel successfully contained and stabilized the simulated incident, demonstrating efficient operational alignment across units.
DPPF Acting Superintendent C/SUPT Abel DR. Ciruela emphasized that regular drills are essential for maintaining teamwork and discipline within the facility.
The initiative aligns with broader directives from Bureau of Corrections Director General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr. to enhance institutional safety, ensuring secure custody for PDLs and protection for prison personnel.
