POLICE seized over ₱1.1 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested a 32-year-old mechanic after catching him in an illegal drug transaction in Barangay Manggahan on Saturday morning, September 5, 2026.
Operatives from the Manggahan Police Sub-Station were conducting validation activities for wanted persons along Kaayusan Street around 7:20 AM when they spotted two individuals engaged in a drug trade.
Police arrested the suspect, identified by the alias “Jondrex,” a resident of Barangay Manggahan. His cohort managed to evade arrest and fled the scene.
Authorities recovered eight transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 170 grams of suspected shabu, valued at an estimated ₱1,156,000. Officers also confiscated a black belt bag and two ₱100 bills from the suspect.
The marking and inventory of the seized evidence took place at the scene in the presence of an elected barangay official and a media representative.
The suspect and the confiscated items were transferred to the police station for documentation, while the recovered substances were submitted to the Eastern Police District (EPD) Forensic Unit in Mandaluyong City for quantitative laboratory examination and drug testing.
“Jondrex” remains in police custody and faces formal charges for violations under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
