AN intelligence-driven raid by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) resulted in the arrest of a 57-year-old man and the recovery of several unauthorized firearms and ammunition on Tuesday afternoon, September 1, 2026.
Operatives from the Mandaluyong City Police Station–Station Intelligence Section executed a search warrant at around 4:19 PM in Barangay Addition Hills.
The judicial warrant was served for violations of Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
During the search, officers confiscated three weapons:
- Improvised Firearm: One homemade gun
- Revolvers: Two .38-caliber handguns
- Ammunition: Five live rounds of .38-caliber ammunition
Operating personnel marked, inventoried, and documented all seized evidence at the scene. In compliance with procedural rules and mandatory transparency guidelines, police utilized Body-Worn Cameras (BWC) throughout the operation.
Subsequent background checks revealed that the suspect is a repeat offender with a history of prior arrests, including violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Presidential Decree 1602 (Anti-Illegal Gambling Law).
Officers informed the suspect of his constitutional rights upon arrest.
Following a standard medical examination, he was transferred to the investigating unit for formal processing and the preparation of criminal complaints for filing before the Prosecutor’s Office.
NCRPO Officer-in-Charge PBGEN Christopher N. Abrahano praised the operating units for taking illegal weapons off the street while adhering strictly to legal standards.
“Unauthorized firearms and involvement in illegal activities pose serious risks to public safety,” PBGEN Abrahano said. “NCRPO will continue to pursue intelligence-based operations while ensuring that every action is conducted within the bounds of law and due process.”
