REAFFIRMING its zero-tolerance policy against illegal drugs, the Taguig City local government has issued an open invitation to national law enforcement agencies, welcoming round-the-clock operations within its jurisdiction to keep communities drug-free.
In a public statement, local authorities explicitly called on the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and other authorized units to conduct legitimate anti-drug activities 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The city government committed to providing full cooperation, intelligence sharing, and operational support, aiming to make Taguig a national model for inter-agency collaboration.
City officials acknowledged that illegal drugs remain a persistent challenge requiring a unified response. Rather than claiming the city is completely drug-free, the local administration emphasized that tackling the issue demands strong partnerships between local governance and national law enforcement.
The city’s proactive stance aligns with its ongoing enforcement track record. Consolidated reports from the Taguig City Police and the District Drug Enforcement Unit reveal that between 2023 and August 20, 2026, local authorities conducted 4,061 anti-illegal drug operations.
These actions led to the arrest of 5,560 individuals and the seizure of approximately 23.57 kilograms of shabu and 22.31 kilograms of marijuana.
A total of 4,772 cases have been filed under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
These sustained efforts have earned Taguig multiple accolades, including recognition as a Best Performing City Police Station in the Campaign Against Illegal Drugs and awards for executing top-tier city-level operations and apprehending major drug personalities.
Enforcement has remained active throughout 2026. High-value seizures across key areas include 750 grams of shabu valued at ₱4.08 million in Lower Bicutan, 500 grams worth ₱3.4 million in Maharlika, 355.25 grams worth ₱2.41 million in Barangay Rizal, 260 grams worth ₱1.77 million in Central Bicutan, and 200 grams worth ₱1.36 million in Napindan.
Taguig officials reiterated that their doors remain fully open, urging all national enforcement units to coordinate directly with local leadership to build safer communities.
