THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) officially ushered in a new era of leadership as Police Brigadier General Christopher F. Olazo assumed his post as the new District Director.
He replaces outgoing chief PBGen. Randy Glenn Silvio following a formal turnover of office ceremony held on August 28, 2026, at the QCPD Hinirang Social Hall in Camp Karingal, Quezon City.
PBGen Olazo, a member of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) KABALIKAT Class of 1998, brings a robust background of operational and administrative experience to the post.
His distinguished career includes previous roles as Chief of Police in Bacoor City and Taguig City, Battalion Commander of the QCPD, Provincial Director of the Cavite Police Provincial Office, and Senior Police Assistant to the Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The high-profile event was graced by Quezon City Mayor Ma. Josefina “Joy” G. Belmonte and presided over by Officer-in-Charge of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), PBGen Christopher N. Abrahano.
Notable attendees also included NAPOLCOM Vice Chairperson and Executive Officer Atty. Rafael Calinisan and Congressman Ralph “Raffy” Tulfo.
During the turnover, Mayor Belmonte extended her gratitude to PBGen Silvio for his accomplishments and best practices while leading the district, while offering full local government backing to the incoming director.
PBGen Abrahano commended the outgoing leadership’s Investigation Solution Automatic Verification (ISAV) system, directing its regionwide implementation across NCRPO to support core PNP goals: reduced crime, faster emergency responses, and improved police discipline.
In his farewell address, PBGen Silvio reflected proudly on his tenure, expressing deep appreciation for the dedication of Team QCPD.
Taking the helm, PBGen Olazo pledged a straightforward leadership style grounded in accountability, professionalism, and leading by example.
He reassured the residents of Quezon City that the QCPD will remain steadfast in preventing crime, protecting local communities, and delivering accessible, responsive public service under his watch.
