A joint operation by airport security and law enforcement personnel led to the arrest of a 60-year-old Filipino passenger attempting to board an international flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on August 26, 2026.
The suspect was intercepted during routine immigration screening through coordinated efforts between the Bureau of Immigration (BI), NAIA Police Station 3, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit–National Capital Region (CIDG RFU-NCR).
Authorities executed an active alias warrant of arrest prior to the passenger’s scheduled departure for Bangkok, Thailand.
According to court records, the arrest warrant stems from alleged violations of Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, in relation to rape.
The court set no recommended bail for the charge.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., lauded the multi-agency operation, stating that inter-agency vigilance at key transport hubs remains vital to preventing fugitives from fleeing court jurisdiction.
The suspect was placed under the custody of CIDG RFU-NCR for formal processing and subsequent legal proceedings.
PNP officials confirmed that the operation aligns with the agency’s Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) framework to ensure the swift administration of justice.
