A 22-year-old unemployed resident listed as the Southern Police District’s (SPD) Top 2 most wanted person for October 2026 was apprehended during a police operation in Barangay Zapote on Wednesday afternoon, October 14, 2026.
The suspect, identified by the alias “John,” was captured at approximately 12:10 P.M. by a joint operating team comprising personnel from the Las Piñas City Police Station’s warrant and subpoena section, Station Intelligence Section, and Station Investigation and Detective Management Section.
Authorities arrested the suspect by virtue of a warrant of arrest for statutory rape under Criminal Case Nos. 26-0938 and 26-0939.
The non-bailable warrants were issued on September 2, 2026, by the Regional Trial Court Branch 199 in Las Piñas City.
Following his arrest, the accused was temporarily detained at the Las Piñas City Police Station Custodial Facility while awaiting the issuance of a formal commitment order from the court.
Southern Police District Director Police Brigadier General Rodel A. Pastor commended the joint operating team, underscoring the district’s relentless drive to hunt down fugitives and deliver justice to victims.
“We will continue to intensify our efforts to locate and arrest wanted persons through focused operations and close coordination among our police units,” PBGen. Pastor stated.
“No matter how long they evade arrest, we will pursue them in accordance with the law and ensure that they face the proper judicial process,” Pastor added.
