THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has reaffirmed its firm commitment to maintaining its momentum against illegal drugs across Metro Manila.

Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano has directed all five police districts to aggressively pursue intelligence-driven operations focused on dismantling drug suppliers, distributors, and syndicates.

This intensified strategy aligns directly with the directives of PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. to fortify law enforcement efforts and completely disrupt the illegal drug trade.

Recent figures demonstrate the active posture of Metro Manila police.

Between October 4 and 10, the NCRPO executed 206 anti-drug operations, leading to the arrest of 265 individuals and the confiscation of illicit substances with an estimated street value of ₱5.927 million.

PBGen. Abrahano noted that recent assessments by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regarding a notable scarcity of shabu in Metro Manila emphasize the critical need to keep continuous pressure on supply networks.

PDEA earlier reported a supply shortage following an intercepted ₱3.54 billion drug shipment from Laos intended for Metro Manila, which resulted in the arrest of a Filipino national by Laotian authorities.

Emphasizing that law enforcement must look beyond street-level peddlers, PBGen. Abrahano ordered commanders to trace deep-rooted supply chains, dismantle clandestine drug dens, and target financiers and protectors.

“We will not be complacent with the gains we have achieved. If reports point to a shortage of shabu in the market, we must sustain our operations and intensify efforts to identify the networks behind its distribution,” PBGen. Abrahano stated.

To ensure success, police commanders have been instructed to heighten intelligence gathering, validate community reports, and closely collaborate with PDEA and partner agencies.

PBGen. Abrahano strictly reminded personnel that all operations must strictly adhere to legal frameworks, respect individual rights, and properly secure evidence.

Furthermore, the NCRPO chief appealed to barangay leaders and residents to actively assist law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities and potential drug dens, stressing that community partnership remains vital to stopping drug syndicates from regrouping.

“Every operation must contribute to lasting results. We will continue to pursue those involved in the illegal drug trade, strengthen our intelligence capabilities, and ensure that our efforts translate into safer communities for the people of Metro Manila,” PBGen. Abrahano concluded.
