THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD), under Acting District Director Police Brigadier General Christopher Olazo, dealt a significant blow to lawbreakers following two successful police operations on October 14, 2026, resulting in the capture of a top most wanted fugitive and a recidivist property offender.
In the first operation, joint elements of the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) and Anonas Police Station (PS 9) tracked down and arrested the station-level No. 3 most wanted person.
The 51-year-old suspect, alias “Gelo,” was apprehended at his residence in Cavite at around 11:30 AM.
He faces serious charges of qualified rape through sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness under a warrant issued by the Quezon City Family Court, Branch 13.
Meanwhile, back in Quezon City, quick-thinking barangay safety officers thwarted a violent escape.
A 28-year-old suspect, alias “Den,” was arrested following a vandalism incident at Congressional Apartelle. Project 6 Police Station (PS 15) reported that a room attendant caught the suspect tampering with a generator set at around 3:30 PM.
The suspect severed 84 meters of THHN wire and six terminal lugs—causing ₱183,000 in damage—before fleeing on a Yamaha motorcycle.
When a room attendant attempted to block his path, the suspect accelerated his bike toward the worker, causing injuries.
Fortunately, a patrolling Barangay Public Safety Officer (BPSO) chased and intercepted the suspect near Road 18 corner Shorthorn Street just 50 minutes later.
Background checks revealed the suspect has an extensive criminal history, including past cases of theft, robbery, malicious mischief, and robbery with homicide.
He now faces multiple charges, including attempted homicide, malicious mischief, and violations of the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act.
Praising both developments, PBGEN Olazo lauded the collaborative efforts of local units and community watchmen. “tunay na kabalikat natin sila sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan,” Olazo stated, emphasizing how barangay partnerships and relentless manhunts ensure that law violators have nowhere to hide.
