THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has finalized its comprehensive security deployment across Metro Manila to ensure a safe and orderly observance of Undas 2026.
NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano instructed all police district directors, chiefs of police, and station commanders to coordinate directly with cemetery and columbarium administrators.
Strategic police deployments will cover memorial parks, cemetery entrances and exits, major transport hubs, and high-traffic roadways.
To prevent criminal elements from taking advantage of large crowds, authorities will heighten police visibility and establish round-the-clock security monitoring.
Additionally, the NCRPO is collaborating closely with local government units and traffic enforcement agencies to roll out detailed traffic management plans.
These measures aim to ease road congestion, regulate pedestrian flow, and maintain clear access lanes for emergency vehicles throughout the holiday.
Highlighting the significance of a peaceful commemoration, Abrahano noted that the primary goal is to provide a secure environment for families paying respects to their departed loved ones.
He emphasized that meticulous planning has been put in place ahead of the anticipated influx of visitors.
In tandem with these police operations, the NCRPO issued vital safety reminders for the public.
Citizens are strongly encouraged to leave expensive jewelry and unnecessary valuables at home to deter opportunistic crimes.
Parents and guardians are also advised to minimize bringing small children into heavily congested areas, or to maintain strict supervision at all times if doing so cannot be avoided.
Furthermore, visitors must strictly comply with local guidelines by refraining from bringing prohibited items, contraband, or bladed weapons into memorial grounds.
The public is urged to cooperate by following instructions from on-site security personnel, utilizing designated entry and exit points, and immediately reporting suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest police assistance desk.
Emphasizing that safety is a collective effort, Abrahano called for active public vigilance and adherence to regulations alongside government security efforts.
The NCRPO assured citizens that police units across the metropolis will remain on high alert, with security postures dynamically adjusted based on real-time crowd assessments and local developments.
