THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has rolled out a strict directive requiring all police stations across Metro Manila to maintain high standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and sanitation.

NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano issued the order to all police districts, chiefs of police, and station commanders, emphasizing that law enforcement facilities must serve as welcoming and professional environments for the public.

According to PBGen. Abrahano, a police station is much more than a workspace; it is a vital frontline facility where distressed citizens seek emergency assistance, report crimes, and file complaints.

“Cleanliness and orderliness are part of our responsibility to the public,” PBGen. Abrahano stated.

“When people enter a police station, they should see an environment that is organized, safe, and ready to serve them. We cannot expect the public to have confidence in our service if we fail to maintain the very facilities where that service is delivered,” Abrahano added.

The new directive moves beyond occasional cleanup drives, establishing facility maintenance as a continuous duty under the direct supervision of station commanders.

Leadership teams were instructed to monitor and maintain all areas of their stations, including administrative offices, public waiting areas, entrances, comfort rooms, and detention facilities.

Station heads must also ensure proper waste disposal, adequate sanitation, clear passageways, and the safe storage of equipment.

Crucially, commanders are tasked with proactively identifying and resolving fire, electrical, and structural safety hazards to keep facilities accessible and secure.

To guarantee compliance, the NCRPO chief instructed commanders to institute regular inspection routines, assign specific accountability to personnel for designated zones, and immediately rectify any deficiencies found.

PBGen. Abrahano noted that well-maintained facilities are integral to developing a maayos na pulis—an officer who embodies accountability, discipline, and deep respect for the community.

He urged all NCRPO personnel to treat cleanliness as a shared everyday standard to continuously bolster public trust.

“Ang kalinisan ng ating mga himpilan ay salamin ng disiplina at malasakit natin sa mamamayan,” PBGen. Abrahano said. “I expect every chief of police and station commander to lead by example, ensure that these standards are consistently observed, and take immediate action when shortcomings are identified,” Abrahano emphasized.
