THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is intensifying its security framework and inter-agency coordination to ensure a safe, orderly, and peaceful hosting of the 49th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in November.
Led by Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano, the NCRPO joined key government partners during an inter-agency coordination meeting on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
Representatives from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Department of Tourism (DOT), and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) gathered to finalize synchronized operational plans for the upcoming regional gathering.
Discussions focused heavily on key logistical and security priorities, including convoy mobility, traffic management, delegate protection, crowd control, and emergency response across summit venues, airports, hotels, and major transport hubs.
PBGen. Abrahano emphasized that early preparations are vital to maintaining peace and order across Metro Manila while striving to minimize inconvenience for local residents and commuters.
Measures currently being deployed include heightened police visibility, route security coverage, and expanded intelligence gathering in strategic areas.
“Our preparation is centered on coordination, readiness, and rapid response. We want every concerned unit and agency to know its role and be ready to act when needed,” Abrahano stated, reiterating that public safety and routine daily activities will be safeguarded alongside the security of visiting world leaders and delegates.
The NCRPO affirmed it will continuously fine-tune its security and contingency protocols in collaboration with local government units and partner agencies in the weeks leading up to the summit.
