ANTI-drug operatives across the Bicol Region executed a series of targeted interdiction and buy-bust operations late August 2026, capturing eight suspects and confiscating over ₱185,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs.
Spearheaded by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 5 (PDEA RO5) alongside joint law enforcement units, the regional crackdown dismantled two active drug dens and disrupted transport routes.
Beginning in Sorsogon on August 30, 2026, an interdiction effort at Matnog Port in Brgy. Caloocan resulted in the apprehension of a 49-year-old painter identified as alias Randy, a native of Tarangan, Samar.
PDEA SIU Matnog and K9 units, operating with the Philippine Coast Guard, Matnog MPS, PNP Maritime Group, and PPA, intercepted six heat-sealed plastic sachets containing approximately one gram of suspected shabu valued at ₱6,800.
The suspect faces charges under Section 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165.
Days earlier in Camarines Sur, community complaints prompted a swift response from authorities on August 27 in Brgy. Marupit, Camaligan.
PDEA Camarines Sur Provincial Office, supported by regional special enforcement teams, local police, and coastal security, raided a localized drug facility at around 5:54 PM.
Operatives seized 12.3 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱83,640 and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Four individuals—including the alleged den maintainer, an employee, and two visitors—were taken into custody and charged under Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12 of RA 9165.
Earlier on August 26, a coordinated afternoon buy-bust operation dismantled another drug den situated in Purok 4, Barangay IV, Daet, Camarines Norte.
Conducted by PDEA Camarines Norte alongside the NBI, Daet Municipal Police, and RMFB 503rd Maneuver Company, the raid led to the arrest of 42-year-old mechanic alias “Pongpong,” the alleged maintainer, along with two visitors, alias “Asma” and alias “Chochok.”
Agents recovered roughly 14 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱95,200, buy-bust boodle money, and various drug paraphernalia.
The trio faces multiple charges under Sections 5, 6, 7, 13, and 14 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. PDEA officials reiterated their resolve to eradicate grassroots drug networks through ongoing civic cooperation.
