THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) successfully apprehended a 21-year-old wanted individual facing charges for statutory rape during an intelligence-driven warrant service operation in Calamba, Laguna, on October 20, 2026.
Acting on directives from Acting District Director Police Brigadier General Christopher Olazo, operatives from the District Special Operations Unit—under the supervision of Police Major Jomar Ermino—executed the arrest at approximately 3:00 PM.
The operation took place at a bus terminal along Turbina Highway in Calamba, mounted in close coordination with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) and intelligence personnel from Masambong Police Station 2.
The suspect, identified as alias “Mar” and a resident of Barangay Ramon Magsaysay, Quezon City, was taken into custody by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Branch 102 of the Regional Trial Court of Quezon City.
The warrant stems from a violation of Article 266-A(1)(d) of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 8353 and Republic Act No. 11648 (the Anti-Rape Law and related amendments).
Authorities confirmed that standard legal procedures are underway to notify the issuing court of the successful apprehension and to turn the accused over for judicial proceedings.
Reiterating the district’s unwavering commitment to justice, PBGen. Olazo emphasized that law enforcement units will continue to pursue fugitives across jurisdictions.
“The QCPD remains steadfast in upholding the law, protecting vulnerable sectors, and ensuring that individuals subject to arrest warrants are brought before the proper judicial authorities,” PBGen. Olazo stated.
